ABSTRACT

This study aimed to provide a tool for measuring advocacy competency that can be used for Korean teachers. For this purpose, the Advocacy Competencies Self-Assessment Survey(ACSA) was translated into Korean to identify the validity and reliability of it. Out of 715 responses from elementary and secondary teachers, 707 data were randomly divided into validating group and cross validating group and used for analysis. In validating group(n=354), the validity of the scale was confirmed by testing the unidimensionality for each factor and model fit of six factors. As a result, the six-factor model of K-ACSA(Korean-ACSA), consisting of a total of 26 items was supported. The factor structure of K-ACSA remained the same in cross validating group(n=353), so cross-validation was confirmed. The concurrent validity and reliability were satisfactory. The significance and limitations of these results were discussed.
