ABSTRACT

This paper aims to propose the measures to improve tourism Korean education in Vietnam by grasping the current status of tourism Korean education in Vietnam and analyzing the needs of tourism workers for Korean education. Of the 46 universities with Korean departments in Vietnam, 18 universities have tourism Korean-related courses, but 15 universities were limited to one subject and were either theory-oriented or biased toward tourism guide work. Of the 68 tourism workers, 30 had taken tourism Korean-related courses, and 17 were not satisfied with the class due to the lack of tourism Korean textbooks, lack of tourism-related education, and theory-based education. Of the 68 people, 63 wanted tourism Korean education, and 64 answered that tourism Korean textbooks were needed. Based on the analysis results, the practicalization and specialization of the contents of tourism Korean education, systematization and diversification of curriculum, and diversification of educational media were suggested as improvement measures for tourism Korean education in Vietnam.
