AB - This study aims to examine the socio-philosophical perspective on our korean multicultural society. This will look into the symbolic structure of Korean multicultural society through Alfred Schutz’s Phenomenological Sociology, especially through his discourse on the Life-World(Lebenswelt). For that, first of all, this study will analyze the structure of the Life-World phenomenologically, i.e. the structure in which the multicultural world (life-world as well as world of society) is constituted by its substructures as follows: the intersubjective structure, the time and historical structure, and the symbolic and semantic structure.
Based on this phenomenological analysis of the multucultural society as the Life-World, we will analyze the phenomenological-sociological foundations of Korean multicultural society and seek academic tasks in it. Through this, this study will emphasize that the more multicultural society is, the more actively the predecessor’s world should be used as a discourse on the daily and multicultural Life-World. If multicultural society education developed the aesthetics of acceptance of strangers through human rights and hospitality, this study aims to discuss that a reflective attitude for that acceptance should be secured through interactions with the predecessor’s world in order to form a Korean multicultural discourse.
