ABSTRACT

This study aims to develop a set of indicators to measure the level of social inclusion as perceived by marriage migrant women in Korean society. Existing evaluation frameworks have predominantly relied on quantitative indicators designed for native residents or general immigrant populations, thus failing to adequately capture the complex identities, familial roles, and emotional experiences of marriage migrant women. In response, this study focuses on reconstructing perception-based indicators that reflect how these women feel socially included in their everyday lives. Through a comprehensive literature review, the concept of social inclusion was restructured into five key dimensions: institutional, economic, social, cultural, and psychological-emotional. Based on these dimensions, the study identified 30 core components and developed 74 indicators that reflect the subjective experience of inclusion across each domain. The proposed perception-based indicator system is expected to undergo empirical validation in terms of reliability and validity. It can serve as a practical foundation for evaluating and designing social integration policies at both the national and local government levels. Ultimately, this tool is anticipated to enable a more accurate assessment of marriage migrant women's quality of life and their level of social integration within Korean society.
