AB - This report offers a chronological account of the processes and sequences in the Sannosai
Festival(ceremony) of Hiyoshi Taisha Shrine, and to analyze the folkloric meaning and
symbols of each aspect of the ceremony. For this purpose, my research was not limited
to this area, but reached widely to other areas of Japan and Korea. Through these
examinations, it seems clear that we could see the social role, religious character, historic
relationship and economic effects in this ceremony.
