AB - The article is dedicated to description of linguoculturology as an independent linguistic discipline, a new linguosociological approach to Russian as a Foreign Language teaching methodology. Much attention is paid to forming the foreign students’ sociocultural competence and the role of precedent-related phenomenon in this competence forming. A learner’s guide to the Russian folktale “Sea Tsar and Vasilisa Premudraya” is an example of the precedent-related text and possible working with it.
