ABSTRACT

Artificial intelligence (AI) has become a significant global issue. In China, the rapid development and notable achievements of AI-related industries—highlighted by the emergence of DeepSeek—have garnered considerable attention. Against this backdrop, there is growing global interest in the coexistence of artificial intelligence and human teachers, particularly regarding the application of AI in educational settings in China. This study explores the interaction between artificial intelligence and human teachers within the Chinese educational landscape. It utilizes text mining methods to analyze academic publications on AI and education in China over approximately forty years, from 1987 to 2025. The goal is to provide a comprehensive understanding of how the Chinese educational community has viewed the relationship between AI and teachers amid rapid technological advancements. By automatically analyzing a large body of academic literature through text mining techniques, this study aims to quantitatively and qualitatively identify changes in research focus over time, as well as shifts in the roles of artificial intelligence and human teachers—insights that are challenging to capture with traditional research methods.
