ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study are to develop a safety education program for parents with infant and young children and to analyze its effectiveness in connection with the means of preventing injuries at home. The study participants were 963 mothers whose infant and young children attend at 38 child care centers in Yangchun-gu. For the analysis of the data, t-test was run by SPSS 17.0. The results were as follows. First, the safety knowledge of mothers with infant and young children was noticeably increased after the safety education program. Second, the safety practice of mothers with infant and young children was noticeably increased after the safety education program, and particularly there was a significant difference in safety environment in relation to the usage of safety devices.
