AB - 本研究關注與美國的中國學相關學科的學科名稱和教授組成特徵。目的是以此和我國的現狀相比較，從而發現我國的中國學相關學科的發展方向有需要改進的地方。因爲學科名稱和教授專業别的構成體現學科的教學方向和特徵的主要指標。调查對象選定為設置了大學院碩/博課程的美國16所有名的大學，仔細觀察他们大學的學科名稱和敎授組成。幷把分析結果和我國大學的中國相關學科相比較时，可得出如下幾个觀點。
首先，關於學科名稱在權石煥(2002)的統計中，我國4年制大學中語中文系學科的共有58所，此外中國學科及中國語科等非中語中文系有54所,因此中文系超過了50%。但是美國開設有相關中國學科的16所大學中,僅有4所大學設有中文系不超過25%。由此結果可見在我國學科的建立中，中文學科相比的于非中文學科的比率有上升的趋势,同時各所大學的中文學科有向非中文學科名稱轉換趋势。
其次，可以看出两国教授队伍的专业領域也是造成包括學科在内的很多差異的原因。我國大學和美囯大學相比較时，文學領域特别是古代文學領域的教授比率很高。語言學領域的比率也很高，相對而言歷史哲學領域比較低。美國大學在中國語領域中敎授比率比較高, 且大部分是中國語講師, 因此, 沒有重要的意義。同樣，教授隊伍的專業領域很自然的也體現出學科名稱發展的趋势和轨迹。再者美國的情況，大部分的中國政治經濟、社会政治学以及附屬于經濟學科與中國相關的教授可通過兼課教授形式负责科目。应该看到在學制閒合作方面與我國相比有很多這樣的長處。
最後，在美國國内與中國相關學科的教授中，中國人占据比率比我國高出很多,并且主要集中在中國語方面,而在中國政治經濟․哲學專業中敎授的比率很低或基本接近于零，從级别上来看主要集中于名誉教授和講師。
