AB - 本文從語言類型學的觀點出發，對在去聲變化的過程中，去聲帶有的語法功能逐漸衰退的過程進行了考察。首先，對于在上古漢語裏，去聲是否起源于*-s韻尾，存在着相反的看法。雖然不能說有能够證明*-s韻尾存在的明確證據，但因*-s韻尾是依照比較適合的比較語言學的方法而構擬成的形態，所以通過此點，可以合理的說明古代漢語的語言情況和漢語的變化樣態。基于這一點，關于去聲韻尾*-s的存在與否的討論是値得矚目的。第二，對于去聲在去聲別義的過程中，其語法功能是如何發展的又是如何衰退的進行考察。四聲別義是上古漢語構詞的一種方式，其中去聲別義現象是最重要。去聲別義現象，是在古代漢語中，顯示去聲執行語法功能的典型事例。*-s韻尾的存在，其可信性也通過去聲別義現象在一定程度上得到了證明。可以看出，去聲別義現象從早期上古漢語開始便已存在，其發展，在通過類推而被擴大後又在去聲變化過程中出現了衰退。第三，去聲語法功能的衰退過程，應視爲是與古代漢語去聲的性質及調値的變化有着密切關係的。去聲相對于其他的聲調，是較晩出現的聲調。在之後的變化過程中，顯示出與穩定的樣貌一起，其所屬字也在逐漸的不斷增加的局面。由此可見這是與去聲本身是在聲調系統中帶有着强大辨別力的降調調値這一事實有密切關係。換而言之，可以這樣認爲：因不論是曾具有過基本聲調性質的平調平聲還是以促急爲主要性質的入聲，都無法將語言變化中其他的詞彙意義的多樣化表現得淋漓盡致，所以，雖出現得較晩但其自身帶有鮮明降調性辨別力的去聲得到了一定的語法功能。但在這之後，去聲的語法功能又出現了逐漸衰退的現象。這種衰退過程，是與構詞方式的變化及句法功能在漢語中逐漸成爲核心語法功能的過程有着密切關係的。
