AB - We can assume there are approximately 3,000 migrant workers and 500 foreign scientists and engineers in the city of Daejeon, in Korea. But they suffer from lower wages, forced labour, industrial accidents and inferior living conditions. Now the mission for them became the new mission task for the Korean church. The theological tasks for the effective mission to migrant workers and foreigner scientists and engineers are as following: Firstly, as a holistic mission theology, missio dei includes evangelism and protection of human rights. And the special mission working for the foreign scientist and engineers demands the tent-making mission theology. Secondly, all persons, regardless of their nationality, sexuality and social status are entitled to fundamental human rights. If we discriminated migrant workers and foreigner because they are not born in Korea, we did commit a sin to God. Thirdly, as Christian social service, diakonia seeks care and service to the least people, namely migrant workers. Fourthly, hospitality to the foreigner is the hand downed virtue from the ancient Christianity and should to be recovered by the Christianity today to face the global age. Lastly, Korean churches should develope the multi-cultural and multi-religious theology and attitudes, because most of migrant workers are Asian, and religiously, muslim, buddhist or hindi.
