ABSTRACT

Martin Luther’s Reformation has had an impact not only on Christian theology but also on culture in general throughout human history. Now, more than 500 years later, the whole world has been in unprecedented confusion in the pandemic situation caused by COVID-19 for the past two years. In particular, the Korean church had to be the subject of social responsibility, but it has been criticized for becoming a hotbed of corruption in ‘My Success, My Salvation.’ The Korean church needs a total awakening and alternative solutions beyond formal reflection. This study intends to share Martin Luther’s concerns in the context of the Black Death that swept Europe over 500 years ago. Whether “One May Flee from a Deadly Plague,” This study compared the ‘place of life’ and the ‘call’ of neighbor love with the current situation. And this thesis suggested that calling(vocation) is the responsibility of dealing with neighbors in one’s ‘Sitz im Leben.’
