ABSTRACT

In his Christian ethical discussion on love, Moltmann reflects on the life and teachings of Jesus Christ, the immanent and economic understanding of the love of the Trinity, and the way of loving God. Moltmann’s peace ethics is deeply connected to his ethics of love, with the latter serving as the core normative foundation of peace ethics. The complete practice of love results in a community of peace. The ecological expansion of love is essential to realizing ecological peace, and love for natural, political, and social life forms the cornerstone of a holistic understanding of peace. Accordingly, this paper seeks to explore Moltmann’s ethics of love and examine its normative implications for his peace ethics.
