ABSTRACT

Currently, writing education contents at major universities include “the importance of writing”, “ethics of writing”, “the process of writing”, “right sentence writing”, “how to write”, The writing process, which is a major part of this, consists of deciding the topic of the writing you want to write, then considering how to organize the topic to express student's opinion, making a plan, and then writing according to the plan. Therefore, this study aims to discover and analyze the problems of the outline writing part through the problems raised by students themselves in the process of actually teaching the ‘outline’ part of college writing. The problems that students throw in the course of class are summarized into the following three. 1) ‘Do I have to write an outline before I start writing?’ 2) ‘Is outline the first thing I have to do when I write?’ 3) ‘What is the difference between outline and table of contents?’ These three questions were important for learning outline of college writing, and I paid attention to why these questions occur and how to solve them.
