A Study on the Postwar Novel by Hwang, Soon-Won : Centering around “Lost People”

ABSTRACT

Hwang, Soon-Won has been recognized as a pure literature novelist in the meantime. But, in this thesis, this researcher tries to study that this novel by Hwang, Soon-Won was created with social and historical consciousness. “Lost People” by Hwang, Soon-Won is a novel created and announced after war. In “Lost People”, 5 pieces of works are being recorded. Then, these works have mutually different background. But, this researcher tries to notice that these novels were created after war and that Hwang, Soon-Won is a north Korean refugee are being realized in work with correlation. And, this researcher tries to examine this by classifying into life of exile and consciousness of people who lost hometown, crisis consciousness attendant upon collapse of community life, desire of self, and pass offer in connection with life of Hwang, Soon-Won. In addition, this researcher tries to study that novelist, Hwang, Soon-Won is thinking about postwar actuality with crisis conscious-ness to be filled with uneasiness and fear through “Lost People”.
