ABSTRACT

This paper investigates the applicability of utilizing a corpus-based study in Korean-language education. The purpose of this study specifically seeks to evaluate the constructive use of corpora within the framework of Korean language education. After reviewing the existing literature on corpus-based research, this paper concentrates on four approaches that were conducted on lexical analysis of middle-school Korean-language textbooks, synonym detection and recognition, diachronic study on the growth and decline of the Korean lexicon, and distribution of the double nominative constructions. By analyzing these aspects within Korean-language education through the lens of corpus linguistics, the results of the present study provides a new perspective to the existing literature. This finding demonstrates that corpus-based approaches are quite applicable to the field of Korean-language education.
