ABSTRACT

Social and cultural changes in reading objects and the environment have also been rapidly underway. In the course of the change, the classical epic maintained its vitality in various aspects, securing not only the continuity of the story but also its creativity. ‘Reading EBS radio classics’ is an example of the success of a classical epic with a vertical change in the modern adaptation of the classical epic and a horizontal change in media transformation. Thus, during EBS radio classic reading, I wanted to see the media transformation of "Unyoung story" in order to draw the life of the story and the persistence of public interest. The book takes a rare narrative style that introduces a first-person speaker to the general narrative style of the classic novel, a writer's point of view. The transformation of "Unyoung story" into a radio drama reveals several features. First, the roles of a third-person narrator in the novel, operation as a first-person narrator, and Kim Jin-sa are played by narrator and Unyoung, who have different roles in radio drama. In other words, Yoo young, Unyoung, Kim Jin-sa and narrator appear frequently in the middle of the play to change the role of the narrator, naturally resolving the problem of some of the time differences in the novel. In addition, the novel uses the narrator to deploy parts of the story that were mostly played by a writer's point of view. Also, by mobilizing characters such as Yoo Young and Jaran, one can see that the scene is more specific and the weight of the characters varies. Next, given the nature of the radiography, which has to solve many things by relying on auditory factors, by writing the limits of character and surrounding situations more specifically than fiction. Also uses a method of drawing laughter through caricatures to increase the level of immersion among listeners, while not undermining the great flow of narrative rather than the main character in the plot. In addition, as in the case of a woman, the character is more clearly exposed so that the audience can easily catch the character, and these devices rely only on hearing. Because the audience for radio shows is random, an adaptation process is essential that makes it easy for listeners to follow even with a somewhat profound theme. Due to the nature of the radiography, which requires an epic to be led solely by auditory elements, there are several ways to attract listeners. In this regard, it is the legitimate direction of the listener that the Ladio play "Unyoung story" has set its course from the beginning to the tragic and pathetic love story comparable to "Romeo and Juliet." The novel "Unyoung story" is a historical literature that is passed through Chinese and Korean manuscripts, but it is translated into a media-recommended format and delivered in the form of a field-caption situation. In other words, a new story is created simultaneously and creatively in a collaborative way, as the audience's response is met by a storyteller. Radio is a medium that is difficult to communicate in both directions, and it is an effort to diversify the reading scene in order to form an interactive version. In other words, those who participate in reading freely discuss their opinions after reading, bring in invited guests by changing their rounds, or try to collect opinions from listeners in part. In particular, the audience's notion of accepting a story is not limited to the audience who listen to the radio, but rather to the audience who will be the first to read it, the biography of the dialogue. The characteristics of media transformation, such as ideal, allow us to measure the future and evolution of the classical epic. Reading in the modern sense is the concept of "Social Reading," which is a social read that is extended across the context of text, media, contents, social and cultural contexts. Radio dramas can also be integrated into this concept of social reading. If you look at the story of the traditional narrative method, the classical epic has evolved through the process of writing, printing, and reading.
