ABSTRACT

Park Kyongni Literature Park and Hadong House of Choe Champan are the major literary houses based on the Toji. They are become famous culture contents in their area because of aggressive support from the local governments in comparison with other literary houses. I think, nowadays, communication becomes increasingly important because the boundary between creator and consumer is blurred. So, I will investigate how literary houses will be high quality culture contents focusing on those two literary houses. Park Kyongni Literature Park uses a place of residence, and visualizes the major space of Toji by building up a structure of strange place and hometown in people’s moving line of the park. But, the awkward part of Park Kyongni Literature Park would be the Pyeongsa-ri garden. I do not agree with that the watercourse in the garden is the metaphor of Seomjingang because the compare between the garden which people embellish and the nature of Pyeongsa-ri is awkward. In my opinion, Pyeongsa-ri garden is needed to consider the image of hometown and a village that people live together for more abundant story telling. If it were, it would avoid the forced story telling by man-made landscaping. Hadong House of Choe Champan uses the content, and has a good infrastructure. But it needs to seek for various ways instead of using as only place. That signboards of each building indicate the owner of the building is just offering information. It could not encourage visitors to participate in the story telling actively. The text of signboards should not offer the simple information of the building, but should introduce the part of Toji which can explain who the owner of the building is. Literary houses have a roll to recall the past writers and their works to the present, and it needs to seek for various methods to communicate with visitors aggressively. I think if the story telling of literary house communicates with visitors by using quotation in a literature instead of explanation and choosing to reenact instead of description, it will be successful to remind a present meaning of literature, and to deliver a meaning and emotion of literature.
