ABSTRACT

This article aims to suggest the idea of ‘Geo-narrative’ and to consider the potential of the idea for developing the resources of culture and tourism of the regional services and businesses. This articles proves that the characters and traits of the regional culture are not the result of excavation or proof, but that of interpretation or creation in the epistemological way. However, the fact that these cultural businesses and services has the (cultural) narrative – methodology has not been fully recognized. So, it has been often forgotten that the works need relative (not absolute) objectivity and consideration of the cultural codes, and more importantly, creativity. The examples in this article share the common character that they suggest the characters of the regions by the method of subjective selection and interpretation rather than positive verification. Thus, calling a region a tourist attraction is to practice cultural narrative and epistemology. The names of tourist attractions are not administrational or official, but imaginary – geographical. That is the reason that the ones who practice the regional services and business have to focus the idea of 'geo-narrative'.
