ABSTRACT

In this paper, I examined the characteristics of the transcribed Eonhaemun in the Wolchondusi(月村杜詩), which was donated to the Korean Studies Institute by the Samdaejongtaek(三臺宗宅) of the Uiseong Kim Clan. This book is based on “Yupobon(流布本), a circulated version” not on “Kyojeongbon(校訂本), a revised version”, which was one of the first published version of the Tusieonhae(杜詩諺解). As a feature of the translation of Wolchondusi, I point out the fact that a total of 54 Kugyol characters, including ‘ka()’, were used in the translation. Although it was relatively faithfully transcribed the translation in the first published version of Tusieonhae, it still has some mistakes in transcription. In some cases, we can see the phonological phenomena of the 16th century through some confused orthography for instance, words containing ‘ㅅ’ and ‘ㄷ’ as their final of syllables. However, as a relatively faithful transcription of the first published version of Tusieonhae, this book will help to reconstruct the first published version of Tusieonhae vol. 1․2.4th which do not circulate currently.
