ABSTRACT

On the occasion of the polarization of social classes in Korea, this article describes the historical background to the development of the two big German parties, the CDU/CSU and the SPD. The chronology covers developments from the religious reform of Luther and the concurrent Peasants’ War, through the domination of Napoleon in the early nineteenth century and the desire of the German civil class for freedom and national unification, through the philosophy of Hegel, Feuerbach, and Marx and the appearance of the forth class, through the period from Bismarck to Hitler, divided Germany, and reunification, and on up to the present day. Also to be shown is how Germans overcame their errors in history. The development of the German political structure is reflected in the context of civil society’s development, especially the development of democracy and constitutionalism, a sense of community and collective spirit, and a consciousness of the ecological environment. This process could offer a model for the positive development of Korean Democracy.
