Review Regulations
Article 1. (Composition of the Review Committee)
The peer review process for manuscripts submitted to Glocal Studies in Language, Literature, and Culture is overseen by the Editorial Board.
Article 2. (Composition and Appointment of Reviewers for General Manuscripts)
The Editorial Board selects and appoints reviewers for submitted manuscripts through editorial meetings and collects their review reports. The Editorial Board holds two meetings for this purpose. Considering the difficulty for editorial members located abroad or in distant regions to attend in person, online meetings may be held.
Article 3. (Review Process for General Manuscripts)
The Editorial Board determines the publication status of submitted manuscripts based on the following criteria:
The Editorial Board requests reviews from three experts specializing in the relevant field of the manuscript.
Reviewers evaluate the manuscript and recommend one of the following: "Accept," "Accept after revision," "Revise and resubmit," or "Reject," and submit their comments to the Editorial Board.
Manuscripts without any "Revise and resubmit" or "Reject" recommendations are accepted for publication.
Manuscripts receiving at least two "Accept" recommendations are accepted for publication.
Manuscripts receiving two or more "Reject" recommendations are not accepted for publication.
Other cases are decided according to the table below, which illustrates possible combinations of the three reviewers' decisions:
Reviewer 1 | Reviewer 2 | Reviewer 3 | Decision |
---|---|---|---|
Accept | Accept | Accept | Accept |
Accept | Accept | Accept after revision | Accept after revision |
Accept | Revise and resubmit | Accept after revision | Revise and resubmit |
... | ... | ... | ... |
(Note: The full decision matrix as provided should be inserted here.)
Manuscripts judged as "Accept after revision" will be sent back to authors with revision requests. Publication is confirmed only after satisfactory revisions are made. If additional time is required, publication may be deferred to a subsequent issue.
Manuscripts judged as "Revise and resubmit" will be sent back with requested revisions and will undergo a second round of review upon resubmission. If more time is needed, publication may be postponed to a later issue.
Manuscripts ultimately rejected cannot be resubmitted.
Article 4. (Composition and Appointment of Reviewers for Special Issue Manuscripts)
Topics for special issues are planned by the journal’s executive members, and manuscripts are solicited from qualified experts in the relevant fields. The decision to publish special issue manuscripts is finalized by the Editorial Board.
The Editorial Board evaluates special issue manuscripts with one of the following recommendations: "Accept," "Accept after revision," "Revise and resubmit," or "Reject," accompanied by reviewer comments.
Manuscripts receiving a "Reject" decision cannot be published or resubmitted to the journal under any circumstances.
All authority concerning special issue manuscripts is delegated to the Director of the Research Institute.
Article 5. (Miscellaneous)
Any matters not specified herein shall be deliberated and decided upon by the Editorial Board.
