ABSTRACT

Traditionary, it is natural that Family should be support their aged parents, but becoming industrialized and nuclearized, the function of supporting their aged parents is weakening. But in our country, the family acts as supporting trustworthy system to the aged. So dependence of Korea on their sons and daughters is higher than tnat of other country. Though Korea has the social security system imperfectly, the family serves as a useful resource to satisfy the aged emotional and measurable desire. So, we need the hyo welfare policy that is able to support and aid family supporting his parents on various way. On the other hand, we must take countermeasures against the situation of weakening our spirit of supporting and decreasing supporting rate for the aged parents. To support of aged parents is not only family's responsibility but also country's. We must remember that supporting of old parents is common responsibility and we must take various practical methods of hyo welfare as we live in.
