ABSTRACT

Bernstein argued the road to socialism through the social reformist political line from the fabianist and evolutionist point of view. At that time the SPD is in fact dominated by this reformist line. He denied the possibility of the necessary collapse of capitalism, indem he argued the economic development of modern society as adaptation-means of capitalism based on the empirical material. On the contrary, Rosa Luxemburg debated the limitations which the road to socialism through the social reform carried, and then insisted the accomplishment of socialism through the revolution from the viewpoint of the dialectical sublation between reform and revolution. The so-called 'reviontionist debate' can be by definition understood as the methodological disparity in the building of socialist state. This article attempts to investigate the implication of Luxemburg's political theory from the viewpoint of 'reform', 'revolution', 'the seizure of political power' and 'strike'.
