AB - The Republic of Korea (ROK) Armed Forces are marking the sixtieth anniversary of its founding and developing.
The ROK Armed Forces have developing the defense policies and system in the period of developing Self-Defense (1998-2008).
The ROK Armed Forces have proceeding the cooperative self-defense policies based on the policies of national prosperity and peaceful unification such as the sunshine policy and the engagement policy. And the ROK Armed Forces have applying the comprehensive deterrence policies in the peacetime, flexible response strategies in the local conflicts time, and the offensive-defense strategies or the defensive-offensive defense strategies in the wartime.
In addition, the ROK Armed Forces have fully support the national policies in the fields of the transfer of wartime operational control authority, the establishment of intelligence-science military, the crack units for reserved forces and its employment, the activation of the peace-keeping operation forces and multi-national forces, and have been successfully executing its missions as the main-forces of the national security.
With supporting the national policies and executing positively national defense missions, the ROK Armed Forces will greatly contribute to the National Peaceful Unification in the future.
