AB - This article summarizes the compilation organization established by the Provisional Government of the Republic of Korea for the compilation of military textbooks and the process of their change. The process of organizing the first military textbook compilation organization in the provisional government in 1920, the organization and activities of the Military Academic Compilation Committee in the 1930s, and the organization and personnel changes of the Military Academic Compilation Committee in the 1940s were examined. Through this, it was intended to clarify that the provisional government recognized the military textbook compilation as an important activity, and that the operation of the military textbook compilation organization was closely related to the provisional government's military activity policy.
First of all, data related to the provisional government's military textbook compilation organization were investigated. Various data collections, including the Republic of Korea Provisional Government Data Collection that can grasp the activities of the provisional government, were targeted. In addition, the memoir of a participant in the military textbook compilation organization was used to prove the existence of the military textbook compilation organization operated by the provisional government and to clarify its activities. Through this examination, it was possible to understand the military textbook compilation organization established by the provisional government and its changes.
