AB - In his essay "A short History of Korean Art[朝鮮古代의 美術工藝]", Koo Yu-Seob explains History of Korean Art, fall back on the concepts of Animism, Classicism, Romanticism, Koo says; Vitality is base of Animism, and has influence in entire process of the History of Korean Art. Vitality is confronted with Ideal. Ideal is Neo-confucian Ideal. Koo use 暢暢[chang-chang] as a synonym of Vitality, and use sense-centralism, intellectuality, Idealism as a synonym of Ideal. The consequence of History of Korean Art is Ethical Idealism. Koo's Theory of History of Korean Art differs from 21th century predominent Theory of History of Korean Art. The former attachs importance to Vitality. The later attachs importance to Ideal. The former has risk of adoration for power. The later has risk of totalitarianism.
