ABSTRACT

When Descartes asserted that 'I think' is a clear-distinct notion, the notion is caused by believing that it surely exists. Kant calls the notion the transcendental thought of a subject, and also believes that things-in-themselves exist even though human being does not know a things in themselves. Therefore the fundamental thought of Kant and Descartes is similar. Because this thought is grounded on Dualism. Therefore, in this treatise, I will consider the similarity and difference of the dualism of Kant and Descartes, and demonstrate that modern philosophy is established on cartesian system. This treatise is to be an philosophical-historical explication about the influence of the cartesian philosophy on modern philosophy.
