ABSTRACT

Recently, we have experienced various social conflicts and even hear the hate speeches. These conflicts can cause a crisis of our democracy. In this paper, I argue that the motive of the conflicts is the conflict between the different values, and I call this phenomenon “values war.” What we have to notice is that the conflicts occur in the democracy ill conceived as a ‘winner-take-all’ market. However, I try to show that this conflicts can be a launch pad for the better society. It has to be understood as the cost for our society to be upgraded. For this argumentation, I adopt the phenomenological method: epoche and the teleology of the reason. And I propose the idea of the ‘good citizen’ as a solution for the social conflicts.
