This study object to analyze contents of cultural education in 『Standard Korean Textbook』 for multicultural background elementary students and Suggest ways to improve. Improvement in communication skills can not be achieved without understanding the culture of the target language. Therefore, cultural education should be appropriate for Korean learners in the multicultural era. In the 『Standard Korean Textbook』, all 169 cultural elements appeared. First, as a result of analysis based on the achievement goal of the culture presented in the Korean curriculum, most of the cultural elements appeared in the textbook as a method of one-way presentation. Second, as a result of analysis according to the culture type, 104 behavioral cultures were most common, 45 mental cultures, and 20 material cultures. The behavioral culture was analyzed to be highly related to the subject of the textbook and to reflect the goals of the Korean language curriculum. Mental culture was shown at the highest rate in the lowest level, indicating the problem of the sequentiality of content composition. Material culture is reflected in the textbook at the lowest rate, the material culture that learners can access through the textbook was analyzed to be very limited.
