ABSTRACT

This article aims to examine Derrida’s interpretation of Husserl. When Husserl discussed the origin of geometry, he showed how the ideal object of mathematics intervenes in the history. Derrida radicalizes the phenomenology of historicity in the direction of the crossing of the empirical and the transcendent, by subverting Husserl's approach to the problem of genesis, Since the ideal object is inscribed in the world, this inscription obtains objectivity through the medium of materiality. Derrida tries to solve this problem by the writing which makes it possible to reactivate the meaning buried in the strata of forgetting and concealment. However, the transmission of writing causes the serious problems of misunderstanding and destruction of the materials. Derrida argues that if an ideal object remains in mundane sphere, the transcendence and univocity of this object will be damaged, and face the problem of equivocality. In order to overcome the finitude of this ideal object, Husserl presents kantian Idea in a univocal state. Derrida wants to show the limits of the evidence and phenomenality of Husserl's philosophy through this form of Idea.
