AB - This study was conducted with the purpose of exploring the INFJ type’s in-depth self-understanding through MBTI type analysis and dream insight. The research questions were, first, what is the content of INFJ’s dream insight inner exploration? Second, how is the overall self-understanding discovered through INFJ’s type analysis and dream insight described? To this end, a single case study was conducted by selecting cases of the INFJ type that are capable of dream insight and self-understanding and analyzing them intensively. The results of the study were, first, that the content of dream insight inner exploration showed the flow of ‘extinction → stagnation → explosion → compromise’. Second, the content describing the overall self-understanding was, ‘After facing the collapse of the ego that resisted the environment and living a life of compromise and obedience, at some point, repeatedly discovering messages of deep desires and inner struggles, finding the true self, and adapting to reality.’ This provided the meaning that the unconscious compensates for the individual’s consciousness and leads to integration, and suggested follow-up research.
