ABSTRACT

This study investigates the structural impact of explosion pressure on test chambers during battery charge-discharge cycles. As the industrial demand for high-capacity and high-power batteries increases, research into advanced materials and fabrication methods has accelerated. However, the validation of these emerging technologies involves inherent risks. During activation or cycle testing, internal impurities, manufacturing defects, or extreme operating conditions can trigger thermal runaway and subsequent explosions. The resulting peak pressure poses a critical risk of structural failure, specifically the forced opening of chamber doors, which threatens the safety of personnel. To address these safety concerns, this research measures internal pressure levels through empirical explosion testing to establish robust design standards for explosion-resistant battery test chambers.
