AB - This study empirically analyzed the utilization patterns and suitability differences among generative AI-based design tools, considering the work characteristics of each design profession. Data from an online survey of 106 design practitioners was statistically analyzed based on criteria such as efficiency, creativity, user experience (UX), and practical applicability. Based on these results, the four tools demonstrated significant differences across all evaluation areas. Midjourney excelled in creativity, Firefly in commercial usability and practical applicability, Figma AI in collaborative efficiency and UX design, and Runway in video and motion. Differences were also identified in preferred tools and future usage intentions across professions. This study presents objective comparative criteria for selecting generative AI tools for each design profession and suggests the need for follow-up research on actual project-based analysis and combinatorial utilization strategies.
