AB - This study analyzed how user consent UX design affects user trust and the intention to delegate authority in AI agent environments. To this end, we conducted in-depth interviews with 8 experienced AI agent users and a scenario-based survey of 109 participants, comparing four consent conditions: None, After-Action, Pre-Notice, and Pre-Confirm. The results showed that, first, the Pre-Confirm method most strongly increased both delegation intention and perceived ease of use regardless of risk level, and second, users understood trust in AI not as trust in its technical capability but as closely linked to the perception that they could control the AI. These findings suggest that consent design is an important factor in forming trust in AI agents and in the decision to delegate authority. This study is meaningful in that it empirically confirms the importance of user control in autonomous AI environments and provides implications for user-centered consent UX design.
