AB - This study is to analyze the effects of economic exclusion on elderly care in a super-aged society and to verify the mediating effect of family support. Through this, the study sought to comprehensively elucidate the relationship between economic vulnerability and care. The research results are as follows: First, economic exclusion was found to have a negative impact on elderly care. Second, economic exclusion was confirmed to have a negative impact on family support as well. Third, family support was identified as a factor with a positive influence on elderly care. Fourth, family support was confirmed to have a partial mediating effect on the relationship between economic exclusion and elderly care. These results empirically demonstrate that economic exclusion not only directly affects care but can also be mitigated through family support. This study has limitations in generalization as it was conducted focusing on a specific region and relies on self-report data. Future research needs to more sophisticatedly verify the relationships between variables using diverse samples and longitudinal designs.
