ABSTRACT

Regional development of logistics system and regional economic growth are closely related. Regional economic growth pulls regional development of logistics and the development of logistics pushes economic growth. Without designating specific direction of causation, this paper maximizes the relation between GDP variables as one set of measurement of economic growth and logistics variables as another set of measurement of logistics capability by using the canonical correlation analysis. The results show that neither the length of railroad nor the length of highway do not play important roles in explaining the relation while the number of employees explains most.
