AB - The purpose of this study is to explore the geographical information of Joseon in the atlas, Hwangmyungjikbanjido. The map of Joseon in the atlas helps to understand the geographical perception of the Chinese on Joseon. The detailed information on Joseonjido in the atlas is similar to Joseondo in the Kwangyeodo atlas with revision for some name places. Also, the Chinese perceived Baekdusan as a mountain range. However the place names and their locations in the maps are found incorrect, this study did not correct all misnamed places. This atlas includes some maps on Joseon which are unknown to us until know. So, the result of this study will be useful for the historical geography research.
