AB - The investigations on the circulative system of the self-guarding energy and demon in the 『Huang Di Xia Mo Jing』can be summarized as follows. First avoidance of the contraindications according to the age is referring to the alterations of whereabouts of the self-guarding energy and demon according to the age, and avoid needling the area in which the self-guarding energy and demon are resident. this method of avoidance have a period of nine years. Second method is the avoidance of the contraindications according to the vigorous energy in the four seasons and five subdivisions of the year. this types of vigorous energy is included in the five Zang(conservation) organs. there are the dominant and vigorous meridians at the every 72 days of five subdivisions of the year, and the contraindications in acupuncture and moxibustion on this meridians. The third method is the avoidance of the contraindications according to the most weakened energy in the four seasons and five subdivisions of the year. It is the contraindications in acupuncture and moxibustion on the Zang meridians in the state of the most weakened energy. The fourth method is the avoidance of the contraindications according to whereabouts of the self-guarding energy and demon in a specific day or time. there are 4 kinds of the contraindicationg in this type, that is, 4 kinds of periodicities in every 30 days, 60 days, 12 days, and 24 hours. the self-guarding energy and demon circulate through the areas of whole body by the periodicities and exist in the specific area at the specific day or time. It is the contraindications in acupuncture and moxibustion on these specific areas.
