ABSTRACT

In this paper, we propose a Korean language writing project class that leverages an artificial intelligence platform specifically designed for students with disabilities, aiming to enhance accessibility and engagement in special education contexts. The proposed approach addresses accessibility barriers commonly associated with AI technologies in special education by utilizing an intuitive, user-friendly platform tailored to the diverse needs of students. Accordingly, this study used ‘Writing Gel’, an artificial intelligence-based creative platform, with students with intellectual disabilities in their third year of high school attending a special school, who were able to write at the sentence level and were not averse to collaborating with computers. A writing class was held. As a result, it was proven that classes using an artificial intelligence-based creative writing platform are effective in improving the writing expression and self-efficacy of students with disabilities, as previously hypothesized, and it was additionally confirmed that changes occurred in other areas.
