ABSTRACT

This study aimed to investigate user satisfaction with electronic record systems in long-term care facilities and to identify directions for system improvement from the user perspective. A cross-sectional survey was conducted among 128 staff members—including registered nurses, certified nursing assistants, care workers, and social workers—employed at three long-term care facilities in Gyeongsangnam-do, South Korea. Satisfaction with the electronic record system was evaluated across four dimensions: learning, functions, quality, and content. The findings indicated that satisfaction with content was rated the highest, whereas learning and quality received relatively lower scores. Significant differences in satisfaction were observed among occupational groups, with registered nurses reporting lower levels of satisfaction than care workers. These results suggest the need to strengthen user education, improve system stability, and enhance nursing documentation functions to better support professional practice in long-term care settings.
