ABSTRACT

Conventional Non-Local Means-based restoration methods use fixed Search Window and Search Patch sizes, limiting their adaptability to image characteristics and potentially degrading restoration performance. This paper analyzes the effects of these parameters on denoising performance under varying image resolutions and Salt-and-Pepper noise levels. Experimental results show that larger Search Windows tend to be required at higher resolutions, while both Search Window and Search Patch sizes tend to increase with noise intensity. Their complementary relationship also indicates that an appropriate combination affects denoising performance. These results demonstrate that adaptive adjustment of both parameters according to image resolution and noise conditions can effectively improve Non-Local Means-based image restoration performance.
