AB - This study aimed to identify factors influencing patient safety management activities among psychiatric nurses. A descriptive survey was conducted among 178 nurses at eight psychiatric hospitals.
The mean score for patient safety management activities was 3.94±0.41 out of 5. Safety knowledge (M=3.94±0.61), safety motivation (M=3.97±0.44), safety control (M=3.84±0.53), safety culture (M=4.08±0.54), and organizational communication (M=3.91±0.53) were measured. Multiple regression analysis revealed that safety knowledge (β=.671), safety motivation (β=.356), safety control (β=.342), organizational communication (β=.159), and clinical experience (β=.134) were significant predictors, accounting for 50.4% of the variance (Adjusted R²=.504, F=60.10, p<.001). Safety culture was not a significant predictor in the final model despite its significant correlation. These findings suggest that knowledge-based education and organizational support should be strengthened to improve patient safety management among psychiatric nurses.
