ABSTRACT

As the manufacturing industry rapidly shifts toward a data-driven smart factory environment, the stable integration of data in production facilities is becoming increasingly important. Although recently developed equipment is evolving to support industrial networks, many lower-level controllers in existing semiconductor equipment still use serial communication. In addition, devices supporting Ethernet-based communication have different manufacturer-specific data frame structures, which causes difficulties in data collection across heterogeneous systems and in integration with higher-level systems. Replacing existing equipment all at once is costly, and relying on external specialists presents limitations in terms of equipment characteristics and maintenance. Therefore, this paper analyzes data frames generated during the data transmission and reception process between industrial PLCs and subordinate controllers using communication auxiliary tools. The data frame structure is segmented by field, and incorrect fields are detected to provide learners with correction guidance. Learners are expected to contribute to cultivating personnel who can understand various communication protocols for different devices based on communication support tools and progressively improve on-site equipment systems.
