주석 정보가 부여되지 않은 원시코퍼스와는 달리, 형태소 분석 정보가 부여된 형태소 주석코퍼스는 문장 및 표현 중심의 대응관계와 용례의 검색 활용뿐만 아니라 자국어와 외국어의 언어적, 문법적 현상에 대한 연구를 효과적으로 할 수 있는 계기를 마련하였다. 이렇듯 코퍼스는 그 활용도를 높이기 위한 방법 가운데 하나로서 형태소 분석을 행한다.
그러나 형태소 주석코퍼스를 구축하기 위한 형태소 주석 작성에는 여러 가지 분석상의 문제가 적지 않은 것 또한 사실이다. 본고에서는 병렬코퍼스 작성에서 고려대 ‘한･일 병렬코퍼스’의 일본어코퍼스를 중심으로 실제 형태소 분석상의 문제들에 대하여 논하고 그에 대한 효과적인 해결 방안을 모색하기로 한다.
