AB - 本研究は、敬語教育をコミュニケーション教育として捉え、その観点から現行の韓国人日本語学習者の敬語教育の問題点を指摘し、その改善策を提案したものである。本稿では、コミュニケーション能力の構成要素である①言語的な能力、②運用の能力、③戦略的な能力のうち、①言語的な能力と②運用の能力を中心に議論を行った。分析の結果によると、韓国人の日本語学習者の言語的な能力と運用の能力は円滑なコミュニケーションを行うのに十分なレベルではないことが明らかになった。具体的には、尊敬語に関する言語的な能力を有し、かつそれを適した場面で使える者の割合は5割を下回っていることが確認された。また、謙譲語に関する言語的な能力を有し、かつそれを適した場面で使える者の割合は約3割に過ぎず、謙譲語に関する言語的な能力は尊敬語と比べて相対的に低いことも判明された。最後に、言語的な能力と運用の能力は必ずしも比例していないことが明らかになった。そこで、今後の敬語教育においては、言語的な能力と運用の能力を同時に高めるような仕組みを取り入れなければならないことを提案した。
