ABSTRACT

In recent years, it is a well-known fact that each university curriculum is likely constructed in consideration of the “Employment rate” after graduating from the university, as the rate becomes one of main criteria being considered when entering the university and occupies high proportions as well in the university assessment program. In addition, it is an undeniable fact that the curriculum content needs to be updated in accordance with the changes of time. In this regard, an essential task to be achieved is to reflect this kind of new change properly in curriculum details. It is thus worthwhile to make a close investigation whether the recent changes related to the department of Japanese language and literature identify precisely the needs of the Society and/or Era. The purpose of this paper is to provide a general reference to the reconsideration of the curriculum based upon the survey results from graduates in Japanese language and literature in terms of the current curriculum effectiveness, supporting talented undergraduates to find a good career path in the future.
