ABSTRACT

This paper deals with runaway teenagers by focusing on why they leave their homes, how they are protected, and what kinds of healing programs are needed for them. There are many factors that causes teenagers to leave their homes. Runaway teenagers are exposed to juvenile delinquency, so some appropriate programs are needed to prohibit them from it. Although Korean government and social welfare organizations offer runaway teenagers some prevention and healing programs, local churches have to get involved in educating church teenagers to prevent them from running away from their homes. Churches can offer these programs. Some prevention programs are needed for parents to keep their children at their homes. Some healing programs are needed for runaway teenagers to come back home. Some family therapy programs are needed for the people who have family problems. Some Christian professional counsellors have to work on counselling runaway teenagers by leading fundamental surveys and studies on runaway teenagers.
