ABSTRACT

Although psychological treatment method for avoidant personality disorder can be a temporary treatment, it cannot be a fundamental one. Therefore, a fundamental measure needs to be established which can achieve recovery and facilitate growth, which is the starting point of this research. Courage can be a catalyst which can awaken the potential for recovery for those with avoidant personality disorder who need genuine relationship to trust and count on. This study conducts discussions focusing on the need for a plan to lead those with avoidant personality disorder to gain internal strength through establishment of courage in Christian counseling. The purpose of this study an inquiry into the true meaning of courage, which has recently become a popular issue, is conducted with a Christian world-view. With a premise that courage can be a resource of restoration, a plan for cultivating courage is proposed theoretically through a literature review. Courage establishment; First, biblical recognition of courage is enhanced. Second, Help is provided so as to acknowledge and accept a sense of fear. Third, Motivation is continuously provided through encouragement, so that courage can be developed. Fourth, Courage is developed through community training. The research a limit has been put to a practical plan for building up courage. A study of a substantial methodology is proposed, using a group program for the future.
