ABSTRACT

Generally, the sex addiction falls into the addiction repeating the sex addiction behavior by the self-talk due to false belief. The therapeutic approach to the sex addiction should be made with christian counseling because the human being is made as spiritual being resembled the spiritual characteristics of God. The truth therapy is very effective method to help forming new self-talk inside based on the truth getting away from the wrong self-talk through mediating the Bible and deep prayer. This study proposed the measure for the treatment of sex addict using the truth therapy suggested by William D. Backus. To do that, existing treatment methods of sex addiction were examined in diverse aspects together with the understanding on the sex addiction. To apply the truth therapy to the treatment of sex addict, the process by step such as the repentance, refutation and truth therapy, cognitive restructuring and the spiritual training are used and in all the processes of truth therapy, the elements of Christian faith such as prayer, meditation of Words, and the community of believer are required essentially. Through the truth therapy, the sex addict not only will recover from the addiction but also will acquire the wish for eternal life.
